Just when you think you can predict how your FASD/ Sensory Processing Disorder child is going to respond to something, he does the complete opposite!
Zak has had a hard time at parties (he cried at his own until we stopped singing), so I hired a sitter to join us and take him home when it got to be too much. (My daughter loves parties so it’s hard to leave after forty-five minutes.)
So what happened?
He stayed for FOUR hours, happy as a clam the entire time!!
It was me who decided to bring him home, and he was asleep in ten minutes.
I watched him sleep, sunburned and blonder, and my eyes were wet from remorse and sadness, for not ever knowing what he can do, for always expecting the worst.
You rocked this party, Little Man. You rocked it.
